SmutTalk: A question of polyamory…

I’m working on my next Visitor’s Apprentice story, The Visitor Rises, and I’d love some input. I’ve got my young protagonist Gina talking to a woman she’s just met about the very complicated four-way romance she’s involved in. The lady starts asking questions — who wouldn’t? And it got me thinking.

So I thought I’d ask:

• Friends who’ve been involved in poly relationships: What questions do people always ask you when they find out (reasonable or not)?

• Friends who HAVEN’T: What questions would you want to ask someone who told you they were in a multi-partner relationship?

Doing research. Really. 🙂

(And you don’t have to identify which of the above groups you fall into if you don’t want to, obviously.)

So, I finished On the Table, the fourth in my Over the Top stories about Suzie, Danny and their somewhat twisted path to True Love! The story — now at almost 20,000 words, the longest single piece I’ve ever written (aside from the requisite unpublished novels) — follows our heroes as they continue to explore the boundaries of their relationship, and begin to discover the challenges of being a ménage à trois in a folie à deux world.

If you need a reminder, Lea, knowing her firemen had had a bad day, arranged a surprise: she chained herself to the table — but not before inserting a butt plug. Andy couldn’t wait: he simply had his way with Lea. Sean, remembering the bargain that they’d made (in The Visitor Goes to Work) agrees to let Lea use a strap-on with him later, if she’s willing to let him have anal sex with her now. I’m not gonna lie to you, readers, this has been an awful year. It’s been an awful year for everyone so I won’t recite the litany of my sorrows but most of the past 8 months has just been a struggle to go through the basic motions of eating, working, keeping a roof over my head. In the world of burlesque I took on way too many things and I burned out hard. To the point where I spent a lot of time thinking about giving up. Giving up plans included everything from moving back in with my parents, moving to the middle of nowhere and trying to be a normal person, selling all my possessions and drinking myself to death in New Orleans, or just straight up dying.
